What we Believe

God's Word

  • The Holy Bible, and only the Bible, is the authoritative, inspired Word of God. We believe that scripture is the inerrant and infallible final authority for all matters of the Christian faith, doctrine, and conduct.

  • 2 Timothy 3:16    1 Corinthians 2:13     Romans 16:25-26     Proverbs 30:5

The Godhead

  • We believe in the Godhead, the Holy Trinity, who exists in three persons, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.  These three are distinguishable yet indivisible.

  • Genesis 1:26-27     2 Corinthians 13:14     Matthew 3:16-17

The Fall of Man

  • We believe that man was created in the image of God, but that by voluntary disobedience he fell from perfection as recorded in Genesis 3.  This fall created a need for redemption ultimately fulfilled in Jesus Christ who is the ransom for our sin.

  • Genesis 1:26,27    Romans 5:12,18

The Lord Jesus Christ

  • We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ is the Savior of mankind, and that He was conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, fully God and fully man.

  • Luke 1:26-35    John 1:14-18    Isaiah 7:14; 9:6

The Resurrection

  • We believe that Christ died for our sins, was buried and rose again the third day, and personally appeared to His disciples.

  • Luke 24:36-40    John 21:1    Acts 1:3    1 Corinthians 15:1-4    Romans 4:25

The Ascension

  • We believe in the bodily ascension of Jesus to heaven, His exaltation, and personal, literal and bodily coming again the second time for His Church.

  • John 14:2,3    Acts 1:9-11    1Thessalonians 4:13-18

  • We believe in the salvation of sinners by grace, through repentance and faith in the perfect and sufficient work of the cross at Calvary by which we obtain forgiveness of sins.

  • Ephesians 2:8,9    Romans 10:9-10,13     Hebrews 9:12,22     Romans 5:11

Water Baptism

  • We believe in water baptism, following salvation, by immersion in the Name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit in order to fulfill the command of the Lord Jesus Christ.

  • Matthew 28:19     Acts 2:37-38; 8:36-38; 19:1-6

The Holy Spirit

  • We believe that the church was empowered by the Holy Spirit in the book of Acts for the work of building the Kingdom of God.  We also believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues.

  • John 20:22    Acts 1:8; 2:1-4; 8:14-17; and 19:1-6

Gifts of the Spirit

  • We believe in the operation of the Gifts of the Spirit as detailed in 1 Corinthians 12-14, as manifested in the Early Church.  These miraculous gifts produced by the Holy Spirit continue to function today just as they did when the Church was established.

  • 1 Corinthians 12:4-11

The Spirit Filled Life

  • We believe in the Spirit-filled life, a life of separation from the world, and a life dedicated to Gods work through the leading of the Holy Spirit.

  • Ephesians 5:18;     2 Corinthians 6:14-18; 7:1

  • We believe in the healing of the body by Divine power, or Divine healing, in its varied aspects as practiced in the Early Church.

  • Romans 8:11    1 Corinthians 12:9    1 Peter 2:24     James 5:14

The Lord's Supper

  • We believe in the Lord's Supper, commonly called Communion, for believers to remember what the Lord has accomplished for us.

  • 1 Corinthians 11:25-32    Matthew 26:26-28

The Church

  • We believe that there is one true universal Church, made up of genuine believers, but this one universal Church is also composed of many local churches in given localities. We believe it is our sacred duty, as a part of the Body of Christ, to participate and contribute to our local church.

  • Acts 15:22    Matthew 16:18    1 Corinthians 12:12-31

  • We believe that every Christian, as a steward of that portion of God's wealth that they have been entrusted, is obligated to support his local church financially. We believe that God has established the tithe as a basis for giving, but that every Christian should also give other offerings sacrificially and cheerfully to the support of the church as it commits itself to the relief of those in need, and the spread of the Gospel.

  • Genesis 14:20     Proverbs 3:9-10     Malachi 3:8-12;     2 Corinthians 9:6-10

  • Matthew 25:41     2 Corinthians 11:14     Revelation 12:9, 20:10

Final Judgment

  • We believe that all shall stand one day before God in final judgment, and there receive eternal reward or eternal judgment.

  • 2 Corinthians 5:10     Hebrews 9:27     Revelation 20:11-13

  • We believe that Heaven is a literal place, eternally existent and the reward for those who place their faith in Jesus as their only hope of salvation.
